At AVO, we hire the outliers; the right and left brain thinkers; the exceptional creators who challenge basic assumptions, have an insatiable appetite for learning, and a passion for empowering others through knowledge.
With this position, you’ll be part of a tightly knit, nimble team that collaborates regularly, but also trusts each member to independently deliver the high quality work for which we are known. While team members have their own core duties, no one is above a given role, and we are always willing to take on any task that contributes to the success of our mission.
Excelling in our field requires objectivity and a diversity of perspectives, so we encourage our team members to explore new knowledge. It is not unusual to step into our office, a light-filled space in a historic Belltown building, and find people reading books or watching lectures on any number of topics.
Our name, AVO, comes from the Latin “amor vincit omnia,” meaning love conquers all. This philosophy drives our vision: to leverage our collective intelligence to create a long-lasting positive impact on the world, or as we say, “do good, better.” In the end, our story is not about our work but rather how we empower others to change the world.
We are looking for an insatiably curious, tech-savvy Marketing Assistant to support our team in Seattle. Our ideal candidate will be a visual thinker with a background in marketing, human behavior (degree or strong interest in psychology/sociology), and business. In this role, you will research and analyze customer behavior and recommend strategies to help clients better target, message, and engage audiences; you will recommend approaches for building better user experiences across multiple platforms; you will dive deep into subject matter to assist the team in producing written material for presentations, panel discussions, speeches, and publications; and you will be client-focused and dedicated to the on-time execution of projects and campaigns.
We envision this as a two-year position that provides you with a unique in-house training curriculum and has the potential to propel you to other opportunities within the organization.
-B.S. in Marketing, Psychology, Business, Sociology, and/or related fields
-1-3 years of relevant experience
-Familiarity with marketing tools and services
-Knowledge and understanding of current trends in marketing and economics
-Strong writing skills with the ability to create compelling copy and content
-Proficient with technology and common business software (Office, MacOS, Box, etc.)
-An eye for design and working knowledge of design tools like InDesign and Photoshop
-Experience exercising discretion and confidentiality with sensitive company information
-Professionalism while collaborating with team members, clients, and partners
THIS IS IMPORTANT
Not sure if you are 100% qualified based on what you have read? Consider this: we are more interested in hiring smart, hardworking, thoughtful individuals who are motivated to learn than those who think they already have all of the answers. We want individuals who care about the world, who want to be a part of something bigger than themselves, and who will deliver exceptional work.
Please attach a PDF that includes both your resume AND a cover letter that:
